Great for my purposes
Everyone complaining about this bag being too small should have read the reviews before buying it. Yes, it is very "slim." I'm a college student and I had a large Targus backpack before this one, and that was just too large for my everyday needs. When I got this bag I was very surprised at how light it really was. The construction is great. The straps are well padded, and the back of the bag that rests against your back is also well padded. One of the straps has an elastic pouch on it to hold small items like a pack of gum or keys or whatever. It isn't easy to see though, and it lies flush with the surface of the strap when it's not being used. As far as storage goes. I can fit my laptop (a 15.4 inch MacBook Pro), a large textbook, a spiral notebook, a regular 2-pocket folder with stuff in it, 2 portable external hard drives with their USB cables, a pack of gum, 2 pens and pencils (there are only 2 actual pencil/pen holders, but you can use other slots for more), earbuds for my mp3...

Great choice for traveling
I got this bag as a gift and it's been my travel companion ever since. Its many compartments keep belongings organized and easily accessible, and I always know where everything is. Since compartments are all zippered, everything is secure. Another advantage is that it's discrete enough to double as a handbag (my sling bag is black), so no need to stuff extra weight in my suitcase. The nylon is rugged and resistant, zippers are good quality. I should know: I've been using this bag a lot and not being exactly kind to it.I don't have any clanging zippers, but did find that the adjustable strap keeps slipping through the metal holder (I like the bag at waist length, close to the body, and the strap is long), perhaps because the nylon it is made of is so smooth. I solved this by getting a cheap metal barrette and closing it around the strap right below the holder (it works!). Another interesting aspect is that the bag is a lot more comfortable to carry when slung over the right...

A must for theme park travelers
I was thrilled with this messenger bag. We took it to Disney. Passes fit nicely in the strap zippered compartment and were easy to reach at all times. The side compartment fit my cell phone which also was in easy reach but far enough away from the passes not to deactivate them. I did not need to carry a wallet as the inside front compartments held things nicely. I also appreciated the bottled water compartment on the side. It made water a quick reach. I love the main compartment, it is big enough to carry cameras, etc. Going to a theme park sometimes means carrying maps, etc. The zippered compartment to the back of the bag was perfect for this. The best part was that it was light and convenient and I could alternate between carrying it on my shoulder and across my chest for a messenger bag. In the past my neck, shoulder and back is always hurting at the theme parks by the end of the day. Didn't have this happen once during a 8 day trip! Love this bag and highly recommend...

LOVE my Baggallini!
I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase a Baggallini messenger bag; I wanted something roomy enough to carry books and various other items, but not as big or cumbersome as a regular messenger bag. The Baggallini fits the bill in both style and function. Like another reviewer of the same bag, I find that the shoulder strap slips, so the bag hangs lower than it should on a petite frame like mine, but this is not really a problem. The Baggallini has a LOT of room for a bag its size; multiple pockets and places to stash things, and I especially love the shoulder strap mobile phone 'pocket'. I can easily carry three medium-sized books and still have plenty of space for my wallet and other sundry items. I really like the mesh interior (a bright orange-red in the espresso bag) because it allows you to find things without having to rummage around. I also like the snap-on key ring holder; a bonus for someone who is continually losing their keys! I don't find that the zipper tabs...

Great (little) vintage canvas bag
The hot issue with this canvas bag seems to be size. I don't have any measuring tape on me, but from rough estimate 12x9(or10)x5. It's small. I'd compare it to the small dickies messenger bags also found on amazon. The one major plus of this bag is it's thickness. Mine usually has three or four thin traveling books, two steno pads, and one fairly thick book on Emily Dickenson. And still have room in the main compartment for misc thumbdrives, mp3 player, and blackberry. I have one of the dickies bags, and i could barely fit a couple steno pads before the thing appeared overfilled. It's perfect for daily use, if you don't carry a laptop or full size note pad. The construction has kept up with a couple months of hard abusive daily carrying and commuting.I suppose all the previous negetive reviews came from people expecting something bigger. It's definately small, but some how fits a lot of what I need day to day without resorting to a cumbersome full-sized messenger bag. The...

Worth Every Nickel
It's a shame that the critical reviewers were commenting on a listing error in the bag dimensions rather than the bag itself -- which totally rocks. For $8 or so you can do a lot worse for a handy little day pack type shoulder bag you can throw a sketchbook, a couple of pens, an iPod, cell phone and wallet into and hit the galleries. The bags were meant for carrying ammunition in Iraq while being shot at so it's a fairly sturdy canvas construction with a nice tongue close hitch to keep the flap down & the weather out of your stuff.I wish there were internal pockets or maybe an extra zippered pouch, but it serves the purpose of an inexpensive little personal carrying solution when you don't need a whole backpack but would rather not stuff your pockets like some kind of a dork. It's got a cool urban military jib to it's cut too that's something more interesting than an anonymous Office Max commuter bag, which is what I was replacing. you can't buy just one
i give this bag 4 stars because it could have used just one or two more attachments and clip-hooks or attachment points on the strap that i have seen on other models- but that said, the overall design and construction quality was better than on the other models, which is why i went with this bag- you can't have everything!i bought this for christmas for my young nephew who enjoys airsoft, military history and survival preparedness- he's an amazing kid, and appreciates being organized and prepared.when it arrived, i almost didn't want to part with it...i was stunned at how well made it was. i figured for this price, it would be a bag worthy of giving a kid who may tear it, lose it, snag it on branches, leave it out in the rain, etc...but this thing looks built for battle. double stitching, thick but pliable nylon, sturdy attachments, hems and buckles...and it fits WAY more than you would think. so many pockets within pockets, hook,loop and strap points perfect...

Looks great but could be better.
I bought this product to help me with my new job, which required me to do a lot of running around. This bag seemed perfect because of it's size and multiple pouches. There are days when I am stuck standing in rain for hours, so the water proof interior was a plus. I guess what I am saying is that I had to put this bag under a fair amount of abuse. The bag lasted for about a month before the stitching on the waterproof part came undone. I can also see the stitching on other parts falling apart. While i wish it would have held up better, I still recommend this product as it was cheap and really served it's purpose. I am still able to use it, and I still get compliments on it from coworkers a month later. I would say get this bag if you are looking to use it casually, but if it's a work bag, you might want to spend a little more to get better craftsmanship. I will continue to use this bag until it totally falls apart.

Nice Fabric, So So Quality
I ordered this bag because I loved the pattern of the fabric. It has lots of room inside and many pockets to keep things organized. I also like that the straps do not fall down off your shoulder and its very easy to wear. However, after using it for a few weeks the straps started falling off. I had to hand sew them back on and went ahead and reinforced the other straps as well.

Not as nice as expected
Purchased this bag due to the 5 star reviews others had given to the bag. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite as nice as I had anticipated. The nylon lining inside & on exterior top was rough and cheap, the snaps on the front and back pockets already seemed a bit loose, and it was also much heavier than I had expected. I was hoping my wallet (7X4) would fit in one of the front zip pockets but I could just barely jam it in there without having to tug hard on the zipper. The cute (Cocoa Tree) was super cute, but oilcloth tends to scuff easily and the bottom should be nylon to help avoid this. It is very similar in size and shape to a Fleurville sling tote, but definitely not the same quality. It did have a nice side bottle pocket, just wish there was a bottle pocket on both sides of the bag (the pocket on the other side is short and not too deep, but not secure, so I wouldn't use it for cell phone or wallet or keys, not sure what it is there for). It's OK and the price is in line with...

The clasps are sharp!
I got this bag in cocoa tree (green and brown) from Babies R Us. As other reviewers have said, it is beautiful. I also like that it is roomier than my Skip Hop Dash and my Fleurville Sling Tote. However, the metal clasps that hold the messenger strap to the bag are sharp if you press on them. My husband immediately cut his finger on one and I could only imagine the damage my curious toddler would do to her little fingers. I am returning it and will be getting another Skip Hop bag. I am checking out the Skip Hop City Chic, Skip Hop Studio Tote, and Skip Hop Duo Deluxe because I want more room in my diaper bag from a brand that I trust.
